SEREMBAN: Selangor continued their strong performance in the National Water Polo Championships which concluded here yesterday.

Selangor successfully defended their title in the men's Under-21 category and finished runners-up in the boys' Under-16 event at the Paroi Aquatics Centre.

Their women's team also did well to finish third in the Under-24 category.

Selangor coach Sam Kaw Ma was all smiles after their wins.

"This is the result of all the hard work and dedication shown by the players. We prepared early for this competition," said Kaw Ma.

"I am happy with the commitment shown by all the players and hope this success will inspire Selangor to become a powerhouse in the sport at the national level."

Hosts' Negri Sembilan and Sarawak came in second and third in the men's Under-21 event. Sarawak won the boys' Under-16 category while Kuala Lumpur were third.

Negri won the women's Under-24 event while Sarawak were second.
