KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 13 S. Sivasangari crashed out of the El Gouna International in Egypt on Saturday with a 6-11, 8-11, 4-11 loss to world No. 3 Nouran Goharof.

However, World No. 41 Aira Azman kept the Malaysian flag flying by upsetting world No. 32 Georgia Adderly of Scotland 11-7, 8-11, 6-11, 14-12, 11-9 in 67 minutes.

Egyptian Nouran was just too strong for Sivasangari who had come into the tournament on a high after winning the recent London Classic.

The Asian champion couldn't get going against Nouran's solid game, and lost in just 29 minutes.

National coach Ajaz Azmat said it was one of the days that nothing went right for Sivasangari

"Sivasangari had the chance to win the second set as she was leading 5-2 and then 7-6 but she lost the set. It happens in matches," said Ajaz.

Aira, who upset Egypt's world No. 30 Hana Ramadan in the first round, will face fourth seed Georgina Kennedy of England next.

Aira, 19, is the only Malaysian player to reach the third round as her elder sister, Aifa, and men's national No. 1 Ng Eain Yow lost in the second round.

World No. 34 Aifa was upstaged by Egypt's world No. 39 Malak Khafagy 9-11, 9-11, 11-9, 5-11. World No. 16 Eain Yow, who won the German Open last week, was stunned by France's world No. 33 Gregoire Marche 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 8-11, 10-12.

National No. 2 Rachel Arnold lost 7-11, 10-12, 3-11 in 25 minutes to world No. 1 Nour El Sherbini of Egypt in the second round.
