KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 22 and fourth seed Ng Eain Yow defeated India's Velavan Senthilkumar 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 to reach the German Open semi-finals in Hamburg today.

The Asian champion won in 46 minutes and will face the winner of the match between top seed Joel Makin of Wales and seventh seed Timothy Brownell of the United States next.

Eain Yow said of his match against Velavan.

"It's always been a close affair between us.

"For some reason, every time he upsets a few players to get to me.

"It's getting tougher every time, but I also know my strengths, I know I can hang in there, play the big points better, and I think it showed in the first and second games.

"I'm just happy to get through in three today."
