KUALA LUMPUR: National squash No. 1 S. Sivasangari made short work of Canadian Hollie Naughton to reach the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Open on Thursday.

The Kedahan needed just 23 minutes to win the third round match 11-5, 11-5, 11-7.

Sivasangari will face fourth seed Nele Gilis of Belgium next.

World No. 17 Sivasangari said she was happy to win against Hollie, who upset fifth seed Olivia Weaver of America in the second round.

"I was confident with my game after winning the HKFC Open title last week. I am excited to reach the quarter-finals for the second time in the platinum Hong Kong Open," said Sivasangari.

Meanwhile, national No. 3 Aifa Azman failed to reach the last eight after losing to eighth seed Rowan Elaraby of Egypt 7-11, 5-11, 9-11.
