KUALA LUMPUR: An estimated 5,000 participants are expected to take part in the Kuala Lumpur Run & Ride (KLRAR) event at Titiwangsa, the Federal Territories Youth and Sports Complex in Kampung Pandan on February 3.

The fun run programme covering a distance of 5 kilometers and leisure cycling of 30 kilometers is organised in conjunction with Federal Territories Day celebrations on February 1 each year.

Titan Empire Event Management managing director, Datuk Seri Badrul Zaman said the programme, which is being held for the first time has a family and healthy living concept that is seen as able to attract participants from all walks of life.

“We are having two events, running and cycling, along with other supplementary activities, so we invite just about anyone and everyone to come and take part.

“We are targeting between 4,000 to 5,000 participants and there should not be a problem especially when it comes to parking,” said Mahdi during the press conference earlier today.

The programme by Titan Empire Event Management Program has the cooperation of the Titiwangsa Parliamentary Community Centre and is fully supported by the Federal Territories Ministry and the Titiwangsa Education Foundation.

At the same the organisers have announced that they have registered with the Sports Commissioner’s office apart from applying for permission from the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) and the Malaysian Athletics Federation (MAF).

Apart from running and cycling, among the complementary activities are special appearances by professional racer Anuar Manan, local celebrities, hot air balloons and a mini Hot Wheels guessing contest.
