KUALA LUMPUR: Former MotoGP rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah is set to spice up this weekend's third round of the MSF SuperMoto at the Tangkak Circuit in Johor.

Hafizh of TM SMX450 is expected to challenge reigning Asia Superbike Champion Azlan Shah Kamaruzam, who had won last month's round two of the All-Stars Pro category, for the title.

"I will take it easy as I am still trying to find my pace. SuperMoto is an exciting training race," said Hafizh.

Meanwhile, Azlan is looking forward to the potential challenge from Hafizh and Danial Haiqal of Team KMTR.

Two-time FIM Asia SuperMoto champion Gabit Salleh will not be racing as he is undergoing cancer treatment.

"Danial is a threat, and I expect another tough fight this weekend," said Azlan.

"As for Hafizh's participation, I'm happy to have him on the grid as it will make the race more exciting. I will do my best to finish the race ahead of Hafizh."
