SEPANG: SpeedX Racing Team were crowned the overall champions in the SP2 category of the prestigious Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) after garnering 86 points.

Helmed by drivers Eddie Lew and William Ho, the team won two gold, one silver and two bronze this season.

On Thursday, SpeedX completed the 300km endurance race in 2:32:39.562s to finish second in the SP2 category here.

Eddie said: "It was an important race as the points between the top teams were close.

"It was an exciting race. Thanks to our crew, we maintained a steady pace during the race."

SpeedX owner Leong Chun Kok said: "SpeedX started the season with a new team, and it took us a few races to gel.

"We were ranked fourth after two rounds of four races. However, results started to show from the third round.

"It is great to close the year as overall champions. We hope to replicate the same success next year."

Speedx are currently working closely with their marketing partner, Angle 2 Audience Sdn Bhd, to maximise publicity for Malaysian motorsports as a whole.

The SpeedX team of drivers and crew have accumulated 25 years of experience on the track.

The team also work with Fast Autoworks and TedCo to ensure that their cars are fitted and calibrated for races.

MCS attracts top drivers and racing teams annually.
