MIXED Martial Arts fighter Agilan Thani failed to avoid Hiroyuki Tetsuka's "big bombs" as he suffered a TKO defeat in the recent ONE Championships' Nextgen 2 in Singapore.

The Sentul-born nearly won the fight with a head kick, but Tetsuka bounced back with an emphatic finish in the 86kg catchweight contest.

"I got caught in the third round following a mistake. Tetsuka did well," said Agilan.

Agilan said he will train harder for his next fight.

"I will return to training once I have recovered from this fight. I need the right nutrition to recover before I can hit the mat and the weight room again," the 26-year-old added.

"I will be better prepared for my next fight."
