KUALA LUMPUR: Coach A. Arul Selvaraj will leave it to the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHC) to decide his future after the Speedy Tigers failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

Malaysia drew 3-3 with Pakistan and thus failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Olympic Qualifier in Muscat, Oman, on Thursday.

In earlier matches, Malaysia lost to China (3-2) and Britain (4-1).

"When I return to Malaysia, I will speak to the MHC president and deputy president to discuss my future. Also, the rebuilding must start by injecting youth from state and national sports schools," said Arul.

"We controlled the matches against China and Pakistan but could not convert our chances."

Against Pakistan, Malaysia could have won and entered the semi-finals had Razie Rahim scored his penalty stroke attempt.

"I have yet to speak to Razie. I will find out the reason when we hold a meeting later," said Arul.

MHC president Datuk Subahan Kamal stated earlier that there could be changes in the team if Malaysia failed to qualify for the Olympics.
