KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian senior hockey team played two more matches on their Tour of New Zealand, winning one and losing one in their preparations for the Oman Olympic Qualifier next month.

Coach Arul Selvaraj's men beat South Korea 2-1 but later lost for the second time to New Zealand 2-0 with both goals coming off field attempts.

In the first friendly, New Zealand won 3-2. Their fourth friendly against the Kiwis will be tomorrow.

The Oman Olympic qualifier will be held in Muscat on Jan 15-21 and the top-three teams qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The eight teams that will compete in Muscat are Great Britain, Germany, New Zealand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Canada, Chile and China.

Malaysia will meet China in their Group A opener on Jan 15, followed by Great Britain on Jan 16 and Pakistan on Jan 18.

This is the Speedy Tigers' final chance to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
