KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Golf Junior Association (MGJA) have sent four of their players to compete at the Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship (Jan 31 to Feb 3) in Dhaka.

MGJA named Aneesha Eva Velu, Puteri Ameera Roslee, Irfan Zaini and Azka Azhari, who are between 14 and 16 years old, in the squad.

The players have undergone intensive training for a week at the Monterez Golf Driving Range in Shah Alam recently as part of their preparations.

MGJA president Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim is hoping the quartet will do the nation proud in Dhaka.

"I hope they will remain focused for every shot they make on the course and be competitive," said Irmohizam in a statement released by MGJA today.

"I wish them the best, and hopefully, Negaraku will be played in Dhaka."

MGJA deputy president Zurie Harun will serve as chef-de-mission in Dhaka.

Players from over 30 countries are expected to compete at the Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship.
