KUALA LUMPUR: The 2024-2025 Super League season is still uncertain whether it will be a 12 or 13-team competition.

Today, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) unveiled the fixture list for matches from week 1 to week 13 (LS1 - LS13), allowing M-League clubs to prepare early for the upcoming season.

However, if the independent body, the First Instance Body (FIB), determines that only 12 clubs are eligible to compete in the M-League this season, the MFL will revise the calendar and finalise the fixtures for the entire season.

Former M-League treble winners Kedah are at risk of expulsion from the Super League due to outstanding wage issues.

They have until April 20 to settle unpaid wages or provide evidence of their capability to do so.

Failure to comply could result in Kedah losing their national licence, rendering the club ineligible to participate in the Super League.

Previously, Kelantan faced a similar fate when they were denied a license due to analogous issues.

"The Super League schedule was determined based on twelve factors, including consideration of the Fifa calendar for national team training (World Cup qualifiers), Asian Champions League Elite, Asian Champions League 2, ASEAN Club Championship, Under-23 Asian Cup, AFF Cup, Paris Olympic Games, and the Sarawak Malaysia Games (Sukma)," the statement read.

"Additionally, logistical movements, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operations, shared venues for matches (Super League and MFL Cup), club resting periods and travel, and public holidays were also taken into account."

Meanwhile, the season-opening Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup match between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Selangor will take place at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on May 10.

Like the previous season, the match is part of the Super League.
