KUALA LUMPUR: Faisal Halim has become a marked man in international football after his Asian Cup exploits in Doha in January.

Faisal won the goal of the tournament award in a poll for fans conducted by the Asian Football Confederation. His mazy run before scoring in Malaysia's 3-3 draw against mighty South Korea caught the imagination of many.

But expect rivals Oman to keep a close watch on the 25-year-old winger in the pre-World Cup matches on March 21 in Muscat and March 26 in Bukit Jalil.

Faisal said during a national team training session today:

''After I won the Asian award, the other teams will know me. That will put me under some pressure.

''I will try to play a good game. If I don't play well, I will be criticised by some people. If I play well, then I will be okay.

''I am just Faisal Halim, a footballer. I will try my best,'' he said.
