KUALA LUMPUR: An Asian Cup poster showing South Korea's superstar Son Heung Min and Malaysia's Faisal Halim side-by-side had former national football team coach Datuk K. Rajagobal thinking.

The 67-year-old posted on X that the poster made him "reflect and think".

"As a former player, I would aspire to be on this stage (Asian Cup)," said Rajagobal.

"As a coach, this is a dream and aspiration for sure.

"As a fan, I'm going to be counting the days till the first match."

Malaysia are due to play their first Asian Cup Group E match on Jan 15 against Jordan before taking on Bahrain (Jan 20) and South Korea (Jan 25).

Rajagobal is the only coach to have brought the national team to the AFF Cup title, in 2010. A year before, he guided Malaysia to their first Sea Games gold in 20 years after a 1-0 win over Vietnam in the final.
