KUALA LUMPUR: Wing wizard Arif Aiman Hanapi has officially signed a contract extension with Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

The 21-year-old, a key figure in JDT's recent quadruple triumph, signed the extension after an impressive season, contributing significantly to the Charity Shield, Super League, FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup victories.

Hailing from Kuantan, Arif Aiman made his senior debut with JDT in 2020 and has since become a regular with Harimau Malaya.

He is expected to play in next month's Asian Cup in Qatar.

Last week Fifa listed Arif Aiman as one of the five players, who could excel in the Asian Cup following his impressive performance in Malaysia's come-from-behind victory against Kyrgyzstan in a recent World Cup qualifier.

Malaysian football fans wanted Arif to leave the M-League and develop his career abroad, but the youngster has opted to serve JDT.

JDT on Facebook did not disclose the specific details of the contract's tenure and value.

"Arif has extended his contract with JDT following an impressive 2023 season with 24 goals and 19 assists to offer," said JDT

Arif joined the JDT Academy in 2018 and climbed the ranks from JDT IV, JDT III, and JDT II to the senior team.
