KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) continue to be the trailblazer in Malaysian football as they installed a new hybrid pitch at the Larkin Stadium.

The Southern Tigers, in a Facebook post, revealed the latest update to their facilities.

"The hybrid pitch is the first of its kind in Malaysian football and it's a modern technology currently in use in Europe," read the post.

"The pitch in Larkin is a mixture of artificial grass and four types of grass seeds dubbed the 'JDT Blend'.

"Once the result is analysed, the grass will be installed at all other JDT facilities including the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium."

Several top European football clubs, including Manchester United (Old Trafford), Barcelona (Nou Camp) and Liverpool (Anfield) have been using the hybrid pitch. Bayern Munich also installed it in July.
