YAZAN Al-Arab's career in Malaysian football is over.

The FA of Malaysia's (FAM) disciplinary committee slapped the Jordanian international with a lifetime ban from Malaysian football today.

Yazan had reacted poorly after being shown the red card by referee Hasrol Amir during the Malaysia Cup quarter-final (second leg) between Selangor and Terengganu in Petaling Jaya on Sep 24.

The 27-year-old is claimed to have cussed, spat and tried to inflict pain on Hasrol by pushing him in the chest and kicking him in his backside.

Yazan's contract was terminated by Selangor on Oct 3.

FAM's disciplinary committee confirmed his lifetime ban, which includes involvement in administrative, managerial or any football related activities in Malaysia, in a statement today.

The Red Giants will also be without five team officials for the rest of the season due to suspensions for various offences committed during the same match. Selangor have also been fined.

They five are - team officers Syafiq Iqmal Fozi (RM10,000 and 10 match suspension) and Fadhli Zahari (RM10,000 and 10 match suspension), community manager Amirul Aswad Subro (RM10,000 and 10 match suspension), assets manager Wan Ajmal Wan Abdullah (RM15,000 and 10 match suspension) and chief marshall M. Jayabalan (RM20,000 and two-year ban from football activities). The club itself also incurred RM23,000 in fines.

The offences include causing damage to Hasrol's car (breaking the windshield), throwing a bottle in Hasrol's direction and trying to stop him from walking to the stadium tunnel, profanity, and provocation in the referees dressing room.

The decisions, except for the fines imposed on the club, can be appealed.

Meanwhile, 2022 treble champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) was also fined RM15,000 for fan violence during the 2023 FA Cup final between the Southern Tigers and KL City at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on July 22.

JDT were also fined RM15,000 for fan provocation during the JDT-Selangor MAC Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) match at Pasir Gudang Stadium on May 27.

JDT can appeal both decisions.
