KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia defender Daniel Ting wants to do something to clip the Blue Wings in a World Cup football qualifier on Tuesday.

But he admitted he doesn't know much about the Taiwan team that will meet Malaysia in a Group D match at Taipei Municipal Stadium.

But Daniel knows that world No. 152 Taiwan are ranked much lower than world No. 137 Malaysia. And the Malaysian players have been given the low-down on Taiwan by the coaching staff.

The 31-year-old said: "I don't know much about Taiwan. But our coaches have been analysing them."

"We are looking at Taiwan players individually. For me, it's especially their wingers and attackers.

"We have watched some of their games. They like to sit back a little. It's going to be a bit of a challenge for us to break them down."

Incidentally, Taiwan team manager Gary White, who was appointed in May, coached the Hong Kong team in 2018.

The Englishman succeeded Kim Pan Gon after the Korean left his Hong Kong coaching job. Pan Gon is now the coach of Malaysia.

"White might change his tactics from their previous games but it's important that we know what we're going there to do and focus on our game," said Daniel.
