KUALA LUMPUR: Music notes and grass will fly when popular British rock band Coldplay and the national football team see action at the National Stadium this month.
But officials feel that there won't be any discordant vibes like the one that saw Taiwanese artiste Jay Chou earning the ire of football fans in January after 21,000 seats for the AFF Cup match against Thailand "were lost" due to concert works.
The national team will play Kyrgyzstan on Nov 16 in a World Cup qualifier and Coldplay will perform at Bukit Jalil on Nov 22.
Though Harimau Malaya and Coldplay will play on different days at the same venue, there are still concerns by fans that things may overlap and get complicated.
However, before fans from both sides break out in a cold sweat over this, Ahmad Suffian Mamat, an official of FAM's special task force, assured that the show will go on.
Ahmad posted on X that Coldplay's concert shouldn't be a problem to the World Cup qualifying match.
"I was told by an official at MSC (Malaysia Stadium Corporation) that if Malaysia want to play at the National Stadium, no sections will be closed in preparation for the Coldplay concert as stage works will only commence on Nov 17," he said.
