KUALA LUMPUR: After a 25-hour flight from Nigeria, Ifedayo Olusegun is back to terrorise Super League defences.

The two-time Golden Boot winner arrived in Alor Star on Thursday.

The hitman said Kedah's reputation, their coaching and management were the reason behind his decision to join the northerners,

"I got offers from a few other Malaysian clubs but I opted for Kedah because of the environment, players' development, and the fans.

"The club is on the right track and will help my football improve," said Olusegun.

"I want to win trophies with Kedah as I have not won any titles with my previous teams in the M-League."

Ifedayo, who won the Golden Boot with Selangor in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, said he is aware of the high expectations on him to deliver goals, and he is ready for the challenge.

The 32-year-old Olusegun, who scored 87 goals in 104 matches in the M-League, last turned out for Melaka last year.

He played for Felda United in 2017 before making his name with Selangor.

"I need to achieve my targets to fulfil the expectations of the Kedah fans.

"I achieved it before with my previous teams and I hope to do it again with Kedah," said Olusegun.
