A total of 17 teams have been granted the national club licence, making them eligible for next season's M-League.

The teams are Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), Kedah, UiTM FC, Melaka, Perak, Sri Pahang, Selangor, Terengganu, KL City, Sabah, Penang, PJ City, Kelantan, Kuching City, Kelantan United, Negri Sembilan and Police.

However, Melaka United and Sarawak United, who will play in the Super League next year, were given conditional licences.

Club Licensing First Instance Body (FIB) chairman Sheikh Nasir Sheikh Sharif said both teams have to settle their outstanding dues with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

He also said Melaka also failed to obtain an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) licence for the 2022 season.

"Melaka's conditional licence comes with an RM15,000 fine. They must settle their debts and forward the receipts by Nov 20.

"From the 12 Super League clubs, only JDT, Kedah, UiTM, Perak, Selangor, Terengganu, KL City, Sabah, Penang and PJ City were granted an AFC licence."

Newly promoted Sarawak United were given a conditional licence and will have until Nov 20 to settle their debts.

Should Sarawak United fail to provide the necessary documents, their licence could be revoked.

Meanwhile, MFL CEO Stuart Ramalingam has urged players, coaches and staff to come forward and file complaints against their teams if they do not receive their salaries.
