THOUGH Kedah lost 3-2 to Penang in a friendly match on Wednesday, their coach Aidil Sharin Sahak is not too concerned by the result.

The Singaporean felt that the result was not a true reflection of the Red Eagles' strength.

As Kedah face Police on Aug 29 - the season resumes after a five-month interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic — Aidil said he will continue to experiment with different strategies.

"Though we lost (to Penang), I found plenty of positives," said Aidil yesterday.

"Faizat Ghazali, for example, has shown improvements since he joined Kedah and he scored two goals (against Penang).

"And youngster Irfan Zakaria is proving to be a good defender," he added.

Aidil pointed out that goalkeeper Ifwat Akmal Chek Kassim, who was benched earlier in the season, has shown renewed confidence while Filipino Amin Nazari has developed great chemistry with captain Baddrol Bakhtiar and Amirul Hisyam in midfield.
