A KEDAH player who rocked the M-League recently by revealing that he does not want to play for the Red Eagles anymore will make it official soon.

The experienced footballer, who helped Kedah win the Malaysia Cup in 2016, sent in a formal request to the Kedah FA (KFA) on May 29 to have his contract terminated.

His decision to terminate his contract could lead to other disgruntled footballers quitting the club.

It is learnt that the KFA have not paid their players since February.

"I will announce my release from the contract once everything is settled," said the player.

"I do not want to rush into making any announcements because there are still a few things I need to refer to first.

"It is not my intent to leave the team due to salary (issues), I have my reasons."

The player urged Kedah fans not to view the situation negatively.

"I hope everyone will remain calm and accept my decision."

The player had on Thursday indicated that he would be ending his contract with Kedah.
