FORMER Kedah coach Azraai Khor Abdullah is ready to bring back the football DNA of their glory days through youth development.

Azraai, known as the "Double Treble" coach for his achievements in 2007-2008, hopes to be given a chance by the new Kedah FA (KFA) management to focus on football development in the state.

"I intend to work on football development in Kedah and get players that can bring the state to achieving something like the Double Treble again," he said.

"We should try to bring back Kedah's football DNA through grassroots that will ensure young talents will grow."

Azraai, who has been a coach for 29 years, said he has been involved in the game since the days of the late Datuk Ahmad Basri Mohd Akil who was the man behind the rise of the Red Eagles as a Malaysian football power.

"The achievement of the Double Treble is a legacy that should inspire the future players of Kedah."

Azraai, 66, coached Negri Sembilan to the 2011 Malaysia Cup title apart from steering Kelantan to the 2015 FA Cup final.
