ALOR STAR: Striker Kipre Tchetche will always be thankful to Terengganu for his big break in the M-League.

The Ivory Coast-born played for the east coast side for two seasons before moving to Kedah this year.

Despite having a soft spot for Terengganu, Tchetche is not going to be ‘soft’ inside his former team’s penalty box in tomorrow’s Super League match at the Darulaman Stadium here.

Tchetche started the season with a hat-trick in the 5-1 thrashing of Tai Po FC in an AFC Champions League (ACL) qualifying match but failed to hit the target in the following two matches — 4-1 defeat to FC Seoul (ACL qualifiers) and 1-0 defeat to Johor Darul Ta’zim (Super League-cum-Charity Shield).

The 33-year-old is hungry for goals and hopes to make Terengganu a victim of his desire to open his accounts in the Super League this season.

“I am a professional and will do my best to score goals for Kedah tomorrow. The target is to help the Red Eagles win their first match of the season in this competition.

“We hope our fans will fill the stadium to the brim and support us.”

Tchetche, however, warned that Terengganu will not be easy as they have quality players.

“We need to be wary of their style of play. It will be a tight match considering that both teams suffered defeats in their opening matches,” he added.

In the opening round, Terengganu suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Perak on Feb 29.
