KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya remained in the hunt for the AFF Cup crown after fighting back from two goals down to hold Vietnam 2-2 in the first leg of the final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.

However, Malaysia will need to raise their game to overcome the Golden Dragons in a tough return leg in Hanoi on Saturday.

Malaysia got off to bad start as Vietnam grabbed two early goals through Nguyen Huy Hung and Pham Duc Huy after 25 minutes.

However, the brave Tigers never lost their composure and hit back with goals from Shahrul Saad and Safawi Rasid.
