MOSCOW: American referee Mark Geiger is alleged to have asked Cristiano Ronaldo for his jersey during Wednesday’s World Cup match between Portugal and Morocco.

This was reported by the Daily Mail which quoted Morocco's Watford midfielder Nordin Amrabat on the incident.

Amrabat was reported as telling Dutch TV after Morocco’s 1-0 loss to Portugal: “I do not know what he (Geiger) is used to, but he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo, and I hear from Pepe that he asked in the first half if he should have his shirt.

“What are we talking about? At the World Cup? It’s not a circus here.”

However, on Wednesday, there was no corroboration of Amrabat’s claim, and Portuguese media officials did not respond when asked for comment.
