KUALA LUMPUR: Men's doubles Yap Roy King-Wan Arif Junaidi have achieved their career-best ranking of No. 50, courtesy of their runner-up finish at last week's Spain Masters.

Roy King-Arif jumped 15 spots from their previous position, signalling their progress towards emulating compatriots Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri in breaking into the world's top 32 recently.

Reaching the top 32 is a significant milestone for players aiming to secure entry into Super 1000 tournaments on the World Tour.

The improvement was certainly encouraging for Roy King-Arif, considering they had dropped to a lowly No. 74 due to months of inactivity following the former's injury.

With Roy King-Arif breaking into the top 50 this week, Malaysia now have the largest representation of seven pairs in the bracket, one more than both Indonesia and China, respectively.

Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik are Malaysia's highest-ranked pair at No. 5, followed by Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi (No. 12), Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun (No. 18), Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani (No. 19), Hon Jian-Haikal (No. 28) and Low Hang Yee-Ng Eng Cheong (No. 46).

Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing, both 17, climbed an impressive 49 spots to reach No. 118 after winning last week's Thailand International Challenge.
