KUALA LUMPUR: Just like their compatriots playing in the All England, men's pair Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri also reached the final of the Orleans Masters on Saturday.

While Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik overcame Taiwan's Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan 21-16, 21-15 in 36 minutes in the semi-finals in Birmingham, fourth seeds Hon Jian-Haikal defeated Andreas Sondergaard-Jesper Toft of Denmark 21-18, 21-16 in the last four in Orleans.

Hon Jian-Haikal, who captured back-to-back titles in India last year (Syed Modi International and Guwahati Masters), will play Indonesia's Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in the final.

The Indonesians defeated Taiwan's Chen Zhi Ray-Lin Yu Chieh 21-17, 23-21.

In the mixed doubles, Malaysia's Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin fought gallantly before going down 22-24, 21-16, 27-25 to China's Cheng Xin-Zhang Chi in the semi-finals.
