KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 230 shuttlers from more than 100 schools across Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang took to the courts at Dewan Badminton Masterscaff in Kemaman last weekend for qualifying round three of the Allianz Junior Badminton Championship (AJBC).
Arshdip Singh from SMK Hwa Lian clinched the under-15 boys' singles title while Muhammad Airel (SMK Tengku Bariah)-Zulfadhly Iman (SMK Bukit Sawa) won the doubles event.
In the Under-13 girls' category, Mirza Batrisyia from SK Pawang Nong won both the singles and doubles (with Lai Wan Ru from SMK Hwa Lian) crowns.
Allianz Malaysia Bhd chief executive Sean Wang said: "We are thrilled that the AJBC tournament has received good response.
"We have four more qualifying rounds (in Ipoh, Penang, Port Dickson and Kluang), so we look forward to seeing more young shuttlers in the coming weeks."
