There was no icing on the cake for men's singles Jacky Kok who lost in the final of the Estonia International in Tallinn yesterday.

Jacky, 20, lost in straight games 22-20, 21-15 to fifth seed Alex Lanier of France.

However, despite the defeat, the former world No 3 junior shuttler can still hold his head up high, especially with the lack of tournaments in the past year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jacky also had to clear the qualifying rounds en route to reaching the final.

For the record, Jacky was among the players who did not get a chance to play in a World Junior Championships due to the pandemic.

Jacky, who has been going great guns at the national level, will next compete in the Swedish Open.

The 2020 German Junior champion will open his campaign in the qualifying round against Indonesia's Andi Fadel Muhammad on Thursday.
