SITI Nurshuhaini Azman nearly missed out on her Uber Cup debut following a snag at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Monday.

Nurshuhaini, 17, was supposed to travel to Denmark with seven teammates, but she was not allowed to board the plane for not being fully vaccinated.

The national immunisation programme for Malaysians, aged 12-17, only started on Sept 20, and Nurshuhaini received her first dose on Sept 24. Her second dose is on Oct 15.

However a day later, Siti was cleared to fly to Denmark, thanks to BAM who acted quickly.

"There was some minor confusion at the counter. The airline wasn't sure if she would be cleared in transit and did not want to take the risk.

"However, we have checked with the organisers in Denmark as well as with Amsterdam (transit), and there is no problem for Nurshuhaini to travel.

"She will leave on a KLM Airlines flight tonight," said BAM technical director Datuk Kenny Goh yesterday.

The other women's singles in the Uber Cup squad are S. Kisona, Eoon Qi Xuan, and K. Letshanaa.
