LETTERS: Muhibbah, the essence of unity and harmony, is treasured by Malaysians.

Recently, however, we see external factors affecting our muhibbah.

Each community has its own story, leading to misunderstandings and divisions.

Enter adverse consequential thinking (ACT), a practical tool to navigate cultural sensitivities.

It encourages us to consider negative outcomes of our actions so that we can avoid worsening tensions.

ACT encourages empathy and foresight, essential for managing in Malaysia, which is filled with multicultural sensitivities. In policymaking and community leadership, ACT guides us to inclusivity and harmony.

We must understand the impact of our decisions and prioritise initiatives that promote equality and mutual respect.

Through dialogue and collaboration, Malaysia can thrive amid diversity.

By fostering a sense of belonging, Malaysians can flourish as a country where similarities are recognised and differences appreciated.

Reviving muhibbah requires collective action. Through ACT, Malaysians can overcome divisions and embrace unity.
