IMAGINE this. If not for the United States' veto on Thursday, Palestine becoming a state would have been guaranteed.

Malaysia has rightly condemned the US for blocking the United Nations Security Council resolution that sought to recognise Palestine as a full member of the UN.

Twelve of the 15-member UNSC voted to recognise Palestine as a state, with Britain and Switzerland abstaining.

Washington's argument, if it can be called that at all, was as lame as it could be: the creation of a Palestinian state is something to be negotiated between Israel and Palestine, not created by UN recognition.

Really? Then why did the US rush to get the UN to recognise Israel in 1948? What is worse, Washington is muscling others into recognising Israel, a state created by Britain and the US on stolen Palestinian land.

Land theft of whatever remains of Palestine continues, with ironclad support of the West. Old colonial habits die hard. Yet, the US is brazen.

It tells the world that its veto mustn't be read as being against a two-state solution, but it is instead an acknowledgement that it would only come through negotiations between the parties.

If this is the logic, then the establishment of Israel must be through negotiations. It may be 75 years too late, but if the logic is to have any consistency, then the UN recognition of Israel must be rescinded to allow its creation by negotiations with Palestinians.

It is not going to happen as the Oslo two-state agreement never happened. Or more accurately, was never allowed to happen by the Zionist regime of Israel with the servile obedience of its iron-clad Western allies.

Former US president Bill Clinton and later his wife Hillary as secretary of state blamed it all on the Palestinians. The world, gullible as it was, fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

How not to be gullible when the world's mainstream media rush to retell the lie in leaders and op-eds. They still do, but at a great ruin to their reputation.

Readers are unsubscribing their trust in them. Because we live in a world where atrocities of war are live-streamed. Welcome to the world of alternative media.

Al Jazeera, the Qatari news channel, may or may not like it, but we consider it to be an alternative media. Consider its forensic investigation into the Hamas Oct 7 attack on Israel.

Immediately after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to the phone to tell US President Joe Biden of mass killings of babies and systemic rape by Hamas, hoping to justify the genocide that followed.

Washington, London and Brussels were only too eager to believe him. Al Jazeera's examination of seven hours of footage from CCTVs, dashcams, personal phones and headcams of dead Hamas fighters proved the accusations to be false.

What really happened was this: there were no burned babies — eight, according to Netanyahu — in the kibbutz, but 12 civilians in a house, all killed by Israeli soldiers when they stormed it.

But the West isn't interested in the truth. The Zionist regime knows this only too well. But the mask may not have been off before, but it is now.

Western hypocrisy — "we want a ceasefire, here have more bombs" — lies like the dissected dead frog on the laboratory table for all to see.
