KUALA LUMPUR: With the announcement of the fresh Cabinet lineup, Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) expressed hope that the current lineup will implement institutional reform.

In a statement today, the party said the previous lineup performance was subpar and was chosen based on political interest to keep the government stable.

"Political commitment must be lifted not only by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim but also by all Cabinet members.

"There is no room for those who are incapable to continue governing and delaying promises made during the last general election (GE15)," it said.

The party further urged the government to address pending current issues fully within the next six to 12 months.

It said specifically to call for immediate action on deferred matters, including the implementation of laws related to the separation of powers, amendments to citizenship, and other essential reforms.

"Muda looks forward to a positive and constructive administration period that will contribute to the progress and overall well-being of the beloved Malaysia we cherish," it said.

Earlier today, Anwar announced several changes in the federal cabinet line-up. He said the decision was made after discussing with leaders of parties in the unity government.

Anwar's restructured cabinet now comprises 31 ministers, supported by 29 deputy ministers. This represents a slight expansion from his initial cabinet of 28 members, with assistance from 27 deputy ministers.
