JOHOR BARU: Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi's appointment as Johor Umno liaison committee chairman reflects the state party's benchmark of excellence.
State Umno Youth chief Noor Azleen Ambros said the appointment is also proof of the state party's achievements in serving the people.
"Even with the nation's constant shift and chaotic political landscape, Johor Umno has still exhibited the best example. It has reiterated time and again that there is nothing greater than the interest of the state,' Noor Azleen said in a statement today.
He said Onn Hafiz's appointment as state Umno Liaison Committee chairman was a strategic move that reflects Umno Johor's commitment in fostering collaboration with the state government, ensuring a cohesive and united approach towards the state's development and wellbeing.
"Through this collaboration, we hope to pave the way for a more progressive and prosperous Johor," he said.
Onn Hafiz is also Johor Menteri Besar.
Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki had earlier today announced Onn Hafiz's appointment as the new Johor Umno Liaison Committee chairman with immediate effect.
He replaces Higher Education Minister and Kota Tinggi member of parliament Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who previously held the post.
Asyraf had also announced the appointment of former Telemung assemblyman Datuk Rozi Mamat as the new Terengganu Umno liaison committee chairman, replacing former Terengganu menteri besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Said.
