PUTRAJAYA: PKR top leadership holding positions in the government should acknowledge and honour the grassroots structure when making political appointments.
A PKR Melaka delegate, Datuk Ginie Lim, at the National Congress today said the party's branches were akin to the party's "official administrators" at the grassroots level, thus decisions of political appointments should be coordinated with those on the ground.
"The top leadership should synchronise the power structure and administration across all levels within Pakatan Harapan (PH) to enabler smoother and more effective grassroots-level operations.
"This includes PH committees at the Parliamentary level, appointments of coordinators for state assemblies, and handling lost Parliamentary seats."
"The top leadership needs to respect the party's power structure, just as the division and branch leaders do.
"It should be remembered that when there are floods, houses being burnt down, storms blowing away roofs, accidents, illnesses, and deaths, the branches and divisions are the frontliners who go to the ground and deliver assistance and support," she said.
Lim said if the top leaders make decisions without involving the branches or grassroots, the people's problems would not be solved.
"We send every branch meeting report to the party state secretary, and the top leadership is welcome to read them.
"Visit and support us at the grassroots level and make more frequent audits on the branch. Assist branches from the beginning, don't wait for elections or party polls," she added.
