SHAH ALAM: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor has returned as Pas central committee member for the 2023-2025 term which was decided in the party election, coinciding with the Islamist party's 69th Muktamar (general assembly) here today.

The outspoken Jeneri state assemblyman secured the highest number of votes when he polled 1,098 to get a seat in the 18-member committee.

Coming in second place is outgoing Pas Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari who secured 1.042 votes.

Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang's son, Muhammad Khalil, received 1,033 votes.

Other prominent party figures returning as Pas committee members include Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Pendang member of Parliament Datuk Awang Hashim, Rantau Panjang MP Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusof, Pengkalan Chepa MP Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, Kapar MP Dr Halimah Ali and Jerantut MP Khairilnizam Khirudin.
