PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the distribution of seats for the upcoming state elections will be announced soon.

He said several discussions to divide the seats between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) have been held.

"When the time is right, I am confident that we will share (the finalised seats) on the date determined by the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim)," he said after attending the Launching Ceremony of the Technical and Vocational Training Portal and the Exchange of Cooperation Memorandum here, today.

Zahid, who is also BN chairman, said he hoped that the announcement would end rumours that component parties in the coalition were being marginalised.

He added that the distribution of seats for the BN components would take into account candidates' suitability and their high winning rate.

"I would like to inform MCA and MIC that there are seats for them to contest."

Earlier today, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan claimed his party was not allotted a seat in the Selangor election.
