KUALA LUMPUR: MCA should boycott the elections in six states to teach the "proud and arrogant" a lesson, says its Youth wing.

Youth secretary-general Daniel Wa also urged the party not to assist any arrogant candidate.

"MCA has been loyal to BN's principles and spirit. It was difficult for MCA to remain with BN... many component parties had left the coalition in difficult times.

"Now BN has a new friend in DAP, so now he is bragging and doesn't need MCA and MIC, which are being called 'living monitor lizards'.

"The MCA leadership must consider this suggestion thoroughly to teach the proud, arrogant and unaware individual (a lesson)," Wa said in a statement today.

MCA was reported to be considering several options for the state elections.

These include campaigning for partners in BN, but not contesting the elections. It is also thinking of contesting only "traditional seats" in the six states.

President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong was quoted as saying that MCA had suffered defeats in the six states from 2008 until now.

This left it with no negotiating power, Wee had said.
