KOTA BARU: Kelantan Pakatan Harapan (PH) will leave it to the coalition's central leadership to discuss and decide on possible cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) in the state election, which is speculated to be held in the next few months.

Its chairman, Muhammad Husain, said the discussion would include negotiations over seat distributions if the coalitions decide to work together in the state polls.

"It is too early for me to comment on this issue. Normally, we (Kelantan PH) will wait for the guidelines or directive from our central leadership before taking the next move," he said in a statement today.

Muhammad, who is also Kelantan Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) chairman, said he would provide a statement when he had more details about the cooperation between the coalitions.

Meanwhile, efforts to get a response from Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub proved futile after calls made went unanswered.

DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng said on Monday that with the setting up of the unity government at the federal level, DAP and BN would partake in a similar collaboration at the state level, just like in Perak and Pahang.

He said further discussion would be held during a PH meeting, involving Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other top leaders before Chinese New Year.

It is learned that such cooperation is likely to take place in states gearing up for polls — Kelantan, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Kedah.
