MARANG: Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is leading the race for the Parliamentary constituency of Marang with a majority of 3,392 votes so far as of 8.20pm tonight.

Abdul Hadi is leading with 6,689 votes while Barisan Nasional's (BN) Jasmira Othman trails with 3,297 votes.

The two other candidates, Pakatan Harapan's (PH), Azhar Ab Shukur and Pejuang's Dr Zarawi Sulong are lagging behind with 275 votes and 64 votes respectively.

So far 23 out of 233 have been received at the official vote counting centre at the Marang district Hall.

For this General Election (GE15), the parliamentary constituency of Marang sees a four-cornered fight among the incumbent Abdul Hadi who is being challenged by BN's Jasmira, Azhar (PH) and Pejuang's Zarawi.

During the last general election (GE-14), Abdul Hadi defeated BN's Mohamed Nor Endut and Zarawi Sulong from PKR with a majority of 21,954 votes.

At the time, he obtained 53,749 votes while Mohamad Nor polled 31,795 votes and Zarawi (5,318 votes).
