BERA: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has advised the people to be calm and mature in accepting the results of the General Election (GE15) tomorrow.

He said everyone must accept the people's choice even if the results might not favour the political party or coalition that they (people) support.

He said political maturity and harmony displayed throughout the 14 days of campaigning must be maintained without any form of provocation.

"I am hoping that once the results or the decision is announced tomorrow night, everyone will accept it calmly and with a high level of maturity.

"Accept the results of the election and do not cause any trouble.

"Do not raise or play up unsubstantiated issues such as what happened before (GE14), where there were claims and accusations that there were voters from Bangladesh which caused unnecessary unrest," he said during a press conference after attending a meet-and-greet session with at Bandar 32 in Kemayan, Bera earlier today.

Ismail Sabri, who is also Barisan Nasional's (BN) incumbent candidate who will be defending the parliamentary seat of Bera, expressed admiration over the determination and high spirits of all sides throughout the campaigning period for the General Election (GE-15).

He also expressed hope that the people's lives will return to normal after GE15 and political differences should not and must not jeopardise the harmony and prosperity of Malaysia's multicultural society.

Tomorrow will be the day of reckoning for more than 21 million voters who will choose the coalition that will form the new government, which will rule the country for the next five years.

With 222 parliamentary seats at stake, the people will go to the polls to choose leaders who will form the new government; one that will be able to lead the country well and effectively towards prosperity, and safely in weathering and overcoming the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the uncertain global economy.

The political coalition that manages to successfully pass 112 seats won will form the next government.
