MELAKA: Umno's Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings, as well as the party's election machinery, should intensify efforts to explain Barisan Nasional's (BN) manifesto to voters and help them make the right choice on Nov 19.
Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan said the party's machinery must intensify efforts to share information on the BN manifesto to show the people what the coalition was offering compared with other parties.
"Our push for continuation in the next five years should be highlighted.
"This includes eliminating poverty through the assistive basic income scheme, which will be automatically credited monthly to all households earning less than RM2,208 per month.
"Other pledges like free higher education for the B40 also need to be explained to the people," said Shahril, who is BN's candidate for the Alor Gajah parliamentary seat.
Shahril is going up against Perikatan Nasional's Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, former menteri besar Adly Zahari of Pakatan Harapan and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air's Muhammad Nazriq Abdul Rahman.
