KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the items in the coalition's manifesto were not empty promises.

Backed by the coalition's experience as a former federal government, Muhyiddin said it is confident of implementing all its pledges efficiently and effectively, with support from various stakeholders.

He said the coalition will form a special committee to monitor the progress of the implementation of the items in its manifesto.

"We also assure that all initiatives of the 2023 Budget, including assistance to the people and civil servants, will be implemented by Perikatan Nasional," Muhyiddin said at the PN manifesto unveiling event in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, tonight.

The coalition unveiled 234 offers and 30 approaches under 12 main pillars in its manifesto themed 'Caring,Clean and Stable: Malaysia Gemilang' or 'PN Best'.

Muhyiddin ended the manifesto presentation by announcing that two of those pillars were dedicated to Federal Land Development Authority's (Felda) and farmers as well as fisherman.

He said the coalition will initiate a new Felda Vision to secure its future for the younger generation. This will be done through the creation of new economic opportunities, entrepreneurship initiatives and improvements in basic infrastructure, including Internet access and affordable housing.

He said PN wants to provide cash assistance of RM1,200 per year to padi farmers under its Rice Crop Assistance initiative and RM800 per year to smallholders under the Drought Season Assistance, if they won in the 15th General Election.
