BERA: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who is defending the Bera parliamentary seat, will focus on raising the living standards of constituents, including the Orang Asli.

The caretaker prime minister said Bera needs more progress to ensure people's lives are more comfortable than before.

Ismail, who has held the parliamentary seat since 2004, also gave an assurance he would remain dedicated to the Orang Asli community.

"There is still a lot to be done in Bera, including improving the infrastructure and diversifying employment.

"We will also focus on helping the Orang Asli living in the interior," he told a press conference at the Bera district council Convention Hall, here, today.

Ismail Sabri is going up against candidates from Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan in GE15.

He also praised the smooth nomination process throughout the country.

He said it reflected the maturity of the parties and their supporters.

He said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani had assigned 36,395 officers to oversee the nominations.

"All parties, particularly the police and Election Commission, are thanked for ensuring the democratic process ran smoothly and without incident."
