KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on Barisan Nasional (BN) to close ranks so that the coalition can emerge victorious in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) and lead the country towards stability and prosperity.
"Come on Barisan Nasional (BN), let's forge ahead and focus on the future together with determination and will to rise up for GE15.
"There is no need to look left and right because we are shouldering a big responsibility to restore stability and prosperity. This is BN's promise to the rakyat and the country.
"Proudly fly the blue flags and banners which have shielded Malaysia's prosperity and well-being for so long. The original blue that is proven to be authoritative and capable," he rallied via a post uploaded to his Facebook account earlier today.
Zahid noted that BN's course and direction were already set and they only have one move left to ensure their hopes become a reality.
He reminded the people that BN's fight and struggle is not just about the present, but what is far more important is the future of the country and the generations to come.
"Leaders come and go, but BN InsyaAllah will continue to be here all the time and be the protector of the country and the rakyat.
"Therefore, the value and identity of this political alliance cannot veer off from the foundation cast in a long history of struggle for the sake of the country.
"This can only be defended by a line-up of leaders and grass root members who know and understand the basics as well as the aspiration behind the fight and struggle," said Zahid.
He pointed out that BN was taking steps and measures to prepare and nurture youths that will inherit the coalition's leadership in the future.
"We are in the midst of forming a youthful leadership that is loyal and ever willing to fight for and defend the rakyat regardless of the situation.
"To the rakyat regardless of political understanding we hope for confidence and belief in BN. As this is a political coalition that is truly proven to be empowered and meritorious," he assured.
"GE15 is about the future of the country and more importantly about the future generations to come. This is the best opportunity for Malaysia to make the right decision for a return to stability and prosperity," he reminded.
