MELAKA: Former chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron says the Election Commission has done well in carrying out the state election so far.

The former Umno leader who is now contesting for the state seat of Asahan under Pakatan Harapan's ticket, said he only took less than 20 minutes to cast his vote at SJKC Li Jen Klebang here.

"I tip my hat to the EC for now. Voters should not worry about coming out to vote as the voting process is being carried out properly while meeting the Covid-19 standard operating procedures," he said when met.

Idris is embroiled in a six-cornered fight against Fairul Nizam Roslan (Barisan Nasional), Dhanesh Basil (Perikatan Nasional) and independents Azmar Abd Hamid, Mohd Nor Salleh and Mohd Akhir Ayob.
