PUTRAJAYA: Former Umno minister Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim is now officially a Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) member.
He was presented with his membership card today by party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at PPBM's buka puasa event, here.
Also present were PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
Dr Rais had been critical of Umno in the days leading up to the 14th General Election, attending campaign events organised by Pakatan Harapan (PH).
While it was reported earlier that his Umno comrades Tun Daim Zainuddin and Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz had been sacked from Umno after they too had been openly campaigning for PH, Dr Rais' status as an Umno member was still being looked into.
