GEORGETOWN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue ruling Penang after winning more than 30 state constituencies in the 14th General Election (GE14), based on unofficial results as of midnight.

The unofficial results also saw PH wrestling several state seats from Barisan Nasional (BN).

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in a Press conference said the win was attributed to Penangites who sought commitment from the state government.

“The victory is for the people in Penang. We can already form a government, going by the unofficial results. I urge supporters to be stay calm and act mature as we wait for the official announcement by Election Commission,” he told a Press conference.

Meanwhile, Penang BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow in a separate Press conference said the team would accept any decision with open hearts.

“We accept any decision and wait for the official announcement,” he said.

In GE13, PH won 30 state seats, and the remaining 10 seats held by BN.
